The urban farm/greenhouse is located at a strategic site at the main entrance of the new district, facing Place de la Bongarde.

The BIGH farm, active 24/7, provides a reassuring beacon of well-being and life to this emerging place—recognizable both to residents who make it their own and to those passing along the A86 and Boulevard Gallieni. Education, training, sales, processing, and awareness-raising are among the activities created.

This constitutes an effective solution for the use of this land under high-voltage lines, without any impact on activity or health. By promoting short distribution circuits and the creation of local jobs, this urban food production, based on innovative agriculture, is profitable and sustainable thanks to continuous, high-quality production of fruits, vegetables, and fish.

BIGH integrates a productive function into an urban building complex whose energy, water, air, and CO₂ performance it improves by producing humus and food.

The farm, seemingly suspended in the air, shelters in its base the “Mercato-Metropolitano” market, conceived as a local organic market with pop-up shops and food stores. This multifunctional building supports the connection between the Bongarde Village, the shopping center, and downtown Villeneuve-la-Garenne. This link integrates flows of people, energy, water, and waste collection for up-cycling, while distributing local products from the farm and the market functions on both sides of the A86.
