The National Bank of Qatar turned to DGLa, in partnership with Arkhitekton, to undertake the refurbishment project of the Elysées 26 building. The scope of works include renovation of the offices floors, access halls for offices and appartments, as well as complete refurbishment of the shopping gallery.

The project stems up altogether from a technical constraint as well as an aesthetic choice : all works must be executed while the gallery stays open, thus the idea is to bring in a new façade right before the old one, without dismantling the existing.

The architectural spirit is modern and “chic”, in full accordance with the atmosphere of the site. The rendering of the mall covering panels has the appearance of bruised metallic paper. The existing canopy on the entrance is replaced by a very simply designed glass object, in the elegant and strict manner of the façade initially designed by Wogensky and Dubuisson.
