Located at the Pointe de Dakar, in the Bay of Dakar, near the city center, the Port, at the start of the Corniche and facing Île de Gorée, the Tour de Gorée hosts a marina at its base, offices, a 5-star hotel, housing, a convention center, shops and restaurants. Symbolizing the influence of Dakar and inspired by feminine grace, the Tour de Gorée is composed of two building bodies that rise by rotating to form a tower facing the wind. To protect itself from the wind and the sun, the façades are covered with a shimmering metallic skin of expanded aluminum. At nightfall, the Tour de Gorée transforms into a magical lantern.
